What is HeadFirst Positive Mindset Training?
'A Happier U', powered by PCOM
This skills-based program, powered by Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), uses a blend of positive psychology and sports psychology to teach teen soccer players how to overcome challenges and stay focused on achieving their goals. It’s delivered in three sessions, with practice exercises offered between sessions — all at no cost to athletes and their families.

What will players learn?

- Discussing personal strengths and accomplishments
- Developing strategies to bounce back from challenges

Between sessions, players will choose from a menu of skills to practice, such as:
- Breathing exercises
- Positive self-talk
- Relaxation exercises
- Noticing good events in life (gratitude)
- Practicing kindness
